I have a risotto recipe that needs 50ml of white wine, but I don't have any. Can I use a tbsp or so of white wine vinegar instead?
OK, so defo not the vinegar then. The recipe already has chicken stock, and onions, so I guess I'll just leave it be. Thanks all!

No, leave out the wine, it's just 50ml so you will not notice much difference, but adding vinegar is a bad idea.

My doctor suggested that I drink two glasses of wine everyday, one in the morning and one at night, for my hearts health. Which is the best red wine for my heart. Price is not a worry.

Many of the presumed healthful things in red wine come from the skins. Also Alcohol in moderation aids in reducing platelet adherence to the artery wall.
Having said this, drink what you like. Red wines in general are fermented in skins. Pinot noir is a wine that derrives it's red color specifically from the skins as it's juice is clear. I could presume that a dark pinot would be good.

I would like to take my mother (she is visiting) on a wine tasting tour. There are sooo many sites on the internet. I am becoming a little overwhelmed. Anyone know what the best one would be if we would like to sight see but also spend time tasting at various wineries? Maybe a tour is not what I am looking for? Any advice! I would like it to be special for her. Would love to hear any ones personal experience and recommendation… Thanks

I'm not a huge fan of the really big wineries so I tend to stick to Paso Robles. Some of my favorite wines come from the little boutique wineries there!
I love to just drive around taking in the beauty of the vineyards (especially with a loved one) stopping at any little winery that tickles my fancy! Try Villicana! They have a great Cab Sav.
I think a tour is a little impersonal but that's just me.
Have fun!

So when I am singing for fun, I have absolutely no problem. And I used to be a competitive dancer and also took private vocal lessons which included performing at vocal recitals, and nerver got stage fright when I performed for that. But I have recently started going on vocal/Musical Theatre auditions, and find everytime that I am NERVOUS as hell when I actually begin to perform and it affects my singing majorly.

I wonder if having a shot of alcohol or a glass of wine beforehand will calm me down a little bit more so I can control my breath a little better. Also, I wonder if it will have any effect as far as constricting or gunking up my vocal chords, like lactose does.

Also, any other advice on how to overcome audition performance anxiety would be great.

Thanks.

musicians and actors have been using alcohol to loosen themselves up for some time now. its seems to do the trick.

i hear imagining everyone naked works. for alot of musicians the audience tends to leave nothing to the imagination.
